Such SUV has not been here yet. New Bentley Bentayga goes over 186 m/h. The popularity of SUVs has also not been ignored by luxury brands. Bentley introduced the long-awaited model and described it as the most powerful, the fastest, the most luxurious and the most exclusive SUV in the world. And in the future time we will see the turbo-diesel version as well. The SUV category is currently one of the most growing automotive segments. Manufacturers who have still produced sports cars or luxury limousines are increasingly relying on it. Now we have seen the most luxurious SUV in the world. It is produced by Bentley and has somewhat strange name Bentayga.

The British automaker does not make secret of its intention to produce SUVs. For some time, more or less camouflaged prototypes have been driving around the world. Because Bentley is part of the Volkswagen Group, it has the inspiration and foundation where to reach for the new SUV. Officially, Bentley does not deny rumors, but the development and construction were certainly developed from another luxury SUV, Volkswagen has several of them. From Touraeg who is waiting for the successor, to the Cayenne from Porsche or Audi’s new Q7 which could serve as a model. But Bentayga is another league. The rumors have proven to be false that it should be made together with the other Volkswagen Group siblings in the Volkswagen plant in Bratislava. Final and handmade production will be in the English town of Crewe.

Bentley Bentayga SUV

The design of the new SUV refers in many ways to the Continental GT coupe. In particular, especially the rear wheels. Even the front mask is known from existing Bentley models. Round LED headlamps and massive mask are characteristic for this brand. The rear of the car looks a little inconspicuous. Two giant exhaust tailpipes gives us idea with whom we have the honor to drive. The new Bentley is a really big. Its curb weight is almost two and a half tons. The length of the new car exceeds 16.4 ft and the width with mirrors is over 6.5 ft. Exact dimensions are 16.86 (length) × 7.28 (width) x 5.7 (height) ft.

However, this luxury car is lightning fast. The maximum speed is 186 m/h. This outstanding performance parameters are enabled a whole new engine. This is a six-liter twin-turbocharged twin turbocharged in W. Its maximum output is 447 kW, engine speed is reaching at six thousand per minute. The torque reaches a maximum of 900 Nm and engine speed is in the range of 1 250 to 4 500 per minute.

Not surprisingly, the new Bentley SUV will also be a plug-in hybrid in the future. The manufacturer has already let himself hear that Bentayga will also get a turbo diesel drive. This is quite a lot of news for the classic luxury brand.

Ecologists will not jump in joy from the new luxury giant. The manufacturer gives a combined consumption of 3.38 liters of petrol per 62 miles. In the city traffic, where the car will be most likely used, however, Bentayga will take 5.02 liters per 62 miles. And these are still laboratory data, which are usually not in line with reality.

It is not surprising that this car has a generously sized tank for 22.4 gallons of fuel. CO2 emissions reach 10.3 oz per 0.62 mile. For the most environmentally friendly operation, a start-stop system is available and more fuel consumption is achieved by switching off half of the cylinders.

The car uses an eight-speed automatic ZF transmission and all wheels are permanently driven. the Torsen Inter-Axis Differential is available. Engine’s power output goes 40 percents to the front wheels, 60 percents goes on the rear wheels. Optionally, the Bentayga can be equipped with an active chassis, however air suspension is included at the base level. There will be special modes for excursions outside of paved roads, and you can use the hillside driving assistant.

Of course there will be all kinds of assistants such as tag reading, traffic monitoring behind the vehicle with radar and five cameras showing the surroundings of the car. There is also automatic parking, both longitudinal and transverse. Using infrared light, the driver gets an obstacle warning even in the dark. Of course there is a head-up display.

The information system uses an eight-inch touchscreen and a 60GB hard drive is available to store multimedia. Passengers in the rear seats will be able to make the journey easier with the removable 10.2-inch Android tablet. They will support 4G networks, wi-fi and Bluetooth. There will be three audio systems to choose from. The best one is from Naim, and has 18 speakers and with 1,950 watts.

Passengers can enjoy all the luxury. The wheelbase is nearly 9 ft. The interior features hand-crafted wood and leather. The front seats are adjustable in 22 directions and ventilation and seat heating are a matter of course. The massage function has six programs. The interior can only be four-seater or five-seater. In the four-seater layout, the rear seats can be set in 18 directions, with heating, ventilation and massage functions. The roof can have panoramic glass. The car can have 20 to 22-inch wheels. Luggage space is minimal compared to the giant dimensions of this car. A seven-seater version is also proposed for the future, however luggage space is virtually gone.

The new Bentley Bentayga will not be a car for everyone. There is an opportunity to order Mulliner Tourbillon by Breitling, which can be either pink or white gold. In addition, they can be adorned with eight diamonds. The Mulliner suite can include a refrigerator, porcelain set, and a crystal glass set.

The new Bentley SUV is hardly going to look for competitors, but in the meantime, everything may be different in the future. The luxury SUV category is eyed by other luxury car manufacturers. The price is starting from $250,000 and availability of the Bentayga is limited.
